MORE THAN 100 YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF LUGELA
Few natural therapeutic mineral waters can boast such a long and deep history of scientific study as LUGELA. Since the beginning of the 20th century, it has been the subject of systematic research lasting for over a hundred years. During this time, a fundamental scientific base has been formed around LUGELA, including monographs, doctoral dissertations, scientific articles, experimental, pharmacological, and clinical studies.
The first scientific works dedicated to LUGELA appeared in the 1920s. Even then, researchers concluded that in terms of chemical composition and healing properties, this water significantly differs from most known natural mineral waters. In the following decades, research acquired state significance. Specialists in balneology, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, therapy, dermatology, gastroenterology, and other medical disciplines participated in the study of LUGELA. Research was conducted in scientific research institutes, clinics, and medical institutions of the Soviet Union, allowing a large volume of experimental and clinical data to be obtained.
Scientific publications indicate that not only the chemical composition and physical properties of the water were studied, but also the mechanisms of its effects on the human body. Researchers evaluated LUGELA’s influence on metabolism, hematopoiesis processes, functions of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, skin, immunological reactions, tissue regeneration, and other physiological processes. Various medical application methods of the water were studied in a number of works, emphasizing the high level of scientific interest in its properties.
Over decades of research, fundamental monographs have been published, doctoral dissertations defended, and dozens of scientific articles and official medical recommendations issued. These materials have preserved historical value and continue to be of interest to specialists studying natural therapeutic factors and their application possibilities in modern medicine.
It is precisely thanks to this many years of scientific work that today there exists the LUGELA Scientific Library. It unites the works of several generations of scientists, archival documents, dissertations, monographs, and research results, allowing the tracing of the development of scientific understanding of LUGELA practically over an entire century.
The history of the scientific study of LUGELA continues today. Modern analytical methods allow for deeper investigation of its mineral composition, physicochemical properties, and potential biological action mechanisms.
